If you are in the Richmond, KY area and crave a cup of Joe, there are several cafes, restaurants, and bistros with this on their menus. Within these places, you will find selections that make your tastebuds happy. Without further ado, here are some of our favorite local coffee shops in and around this area.

1. Purdy's

This Java café is located at 212 W Main St. and is open Monday through Saturday at this downtown location from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. With online ordering, you can place your order and pick it up at the time you desire. Many cups of Joe are available for purchase at Purdy's. An Americano is a favorite, while a flavored latte goes over well with many. Cappuccino, tea, lemonade, and hot chocolate can also be found on the menu. Purdy's has signature drinks as part of their Java lineup. If you like chai lattes, you may wish to try the Russian Sawmill. Do you prefer to have something sweet? Order the Vietnamese Coff, which contains espresso and sweetened condensed milk. Other drinks include the Cafe Miele, the Beekeeper Latte, and the Old Kentucky Latte.

2. Einstein Bros. Bagels

Located at Powell Building, 17, 217 Park Dr, Einstein Bros. Bagels sells much more than that. Open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, the restaurant offers wifi and catering. You can eat The Big Breakfast Burrito or a Texas Brisket Egg sandwich while sipping a hot drink. Lunch items include sandwiches made from bagels, such as Tasty Turkey or the Nova Lox. Einstein brews come in many versions. Cold brew shakes come in caramel, vanilla, and chocolate. You may also order your Joe in an iced version. They feature a brew of the day, which is carefully curated. Other hot beverages include lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and tea. Any of these can be enjoyed with some sweets, such as the Chocolate Birthday Cake Party Bagel or the Greek Yogurt Cherry Pastry.

3. Bespoke Bakery and Café

Bespoke Bakery and Café is located at the mall in the Habitat For Humanity ReStore store. They want to have their customers kick back while drinking crafted beverages and having a sweet or two. Delivery and curbside pickup are available, and there is also seating located in the food court mall. A full Java Joe bar features both hot and cold drinks, along with blended beverages. Located at 830 Eastern Bypass, this café is open from 8 AM to 6 PM Tuesday through Friday, and from 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturday. A bakery case full of delicious treats, such as apple pie cupcakes, a Razzle Dazzle-filled cupcake, cake pops, and cookies, is available daily. Rest assured that everything is made in small batches for the best and freshest taste. All three of the shops listed above are perfect for meeting a friend for a drink or a quick meal. Fall is a great time of year. The leaves are changing colors. The temperatures are dropping, but you don't need to pull out your fleece socks. There's a lot to do in the Richmond, KY area. Attending the Spotlight Fall Fair and Monster Mash One great thing you can enjoy this fall is attending the Spotlight Fall Fair and Monster Mash at 214 Richmond Road. This festival is being held on October 28 starting at noon, and there will be several events throughout the day. Notably, there is trunk-or-treating from 4 to 6 PM and a costume contest at 5 PM. After the festival, we recommend sticking around for a show or two. At 6:30, you can catch the Monster Mash Cabaret Show. 2. Checking Out the Georgetown AutumnFest We also recommend checking out the Georgetown AutumnFest, an event that runs from September 9 through October 31. Located at Bi-Water Farm at 877 Cincinnati Road, this fall farm festival features tons of fun. There is an Autumn Fest Express to help you move through the farm quickly. There is also an adventure park that includes a pumpkin cannon, sky-high slide, zip lines, and much more. If you have a child who is interested in ball sports, you have to check out the Field of Dreams. In this section of the farm, you can find a football pass, basketball toss, and baseball throw. The pumpkin obstacle course is also really fun. 3. Hiking at Fort Boonesborough State Park Hiking at Fort Boonesborough State Park at 4375 Boonesboro Rd. is another fun way to enjoy a beautiful fall day. The Pioneer Forage Trail is over a quarter of a mile long, and it connects the fort and campground. There are also several other trails that you can walk down. We recommend visiting this state park during early fall. You can see historically accurate blockhouses, furnishings, and cabins. You will feel as if you stepped back in time if you tour the fort, and the demonstrations are worth a watch. 4. Touring White Hall Historic Site Finally, we recommend touring White Hall Historic Site at 500 White Hall Shrine Road. Tours are available Wednesday through Sunday, and there are many special events. There are lots of fun things to do in the fall in the Richmond area. However, they are inaccessible if you do not have reliable transportation. Tasty Tuesdays Every Tuesday night from April through September, Richmond hosts a free event with food trucks and live music. Tasty Tuesdays take place from 5 to 8 p.m. and feature a different local band each week along with a diverse variety of cuisine. Just a few of the vendors participating include Speedy Garcia Mexican Food Truck, Cindy Lou Who's Kettle Corn, The Chuck Wagon, and Little Donut Trailer. The town holds Tasty Tuesdays at Irvine McDowell Park at 345 Lancaster Avenue. You can park for free in the EKU Crabbe Street parking lot nearby while you sample favorites from some of Richmond's best restaurants. 2. Park and Play Also taking place at Irvine McDowell Park, this pop-up event emphasizes the positive impact of healthy outdoor activity and play on communities. Each free Park and Play session includes sports and fitness games, water activities, music, arts and crafts, karaoke, and other fun competitions. The next session is June 9 from 1 to 3 p.m., with weekly sessions at different locations throughout June and July. Kids Fishing Derby Kids ages 16 and younger can compete in this Kentucky Department of Fishing and Wildlife derby at Lake Reba Park from 8 to 10 a.m. The June 3 event is part of Richmond's Free Fishing Weekend.
