The Toyota Prius is the best-selling hybrid car in the US, with millions of units sold since it first hit the market in 2000. New features are added to this top-rated vehicle every year, keeping it amongst the favorites of drivers across the country. The 2021 Toyota Prius lineup offers seven standard and three premium trims.

1. Fuel Economy

The fuel economy has been the main reason behind the Prius’ popularity ever since it was released, and the 2021 lineup is more than impressive in that regard. With an outstanding 54 miles per gallon (city/highway average), it outranks its gas counterparts by quite a bit. The 2021 Prius is the perfect car for people with long commutes.

2. Engineering

The powertrain for the 2021 Prius offers a 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor that produces up to 121 horsepower. Its continuously variable transmission (CVT) helps maximize efficiency. The Prius has the added benefit of significantly fewer carbon emissions.

2. Value For Money

The 2021 Prius comes with a very reasonable price tag and less associated expenses than other hybrid vehicles. With extended coolant life and longer-lasting brake pads, the service intervals are a lot longer, resulting in lower maintenance costs. It has an outstanding resale value, as it’s estimated that it will only depreciate around 41% in five years.

3. Technology

From the start, the Prius was one of the most technologically advanced cars in the market, and the 2021 lineup is no exception. On the connectivity front, It integrates with Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. The standard trims include a 7-inch touchscreen, and the Premium trims have an 11.6- inches voice-activated infotainment display, three USB ports, and a wireless smartphone charger.

4. Safety

Every trim of the 2021 Prius lineup comes with ten airbags, child seat anchors, and Toyota’s proprietary Star Safety System. This system includes various driver’s assistance features, such as stability and traction control, brake assist, and smart stop technology. Lane departure and standard collision warning are also standard to all trims. Blind-spot monitoring is available.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2021 Prius a top rating of five stars.

5. Interior Comfort

Up to five people can travel in the 2021 Prius, and the legroom between seat rows is enough for a very comfortable ride. The hatchback offers 27.4 cubic feet of storage space between the second seat row and 50.7 cubic feet with the second row folded. They also come equipped with a 6-speaker audio system and three months of complimentary SiriusXM all-access subscription.

6. Warranty

The standard warranty for all new Toyotas covers 36 months or 36,000 miles.  All new vehicles come with ToyotaCare, a complimentary maintenance program that covers you for 25,000 miles and offers roadside assistance.
