Having a flat tire is never anyone’s idea of a good time. However, this is something that every driver should be prepared to deal with at any given time. If you find yourself in a situation where you have a flat tire, our staff at Toyota South wants to be sure that you know all of the steps of changing the flat out for a spare. After that, we can take care of mounting and balancing a brand-new tire for you on your Toyota RAV4 or Toyota Prius.

Changing A Tire
Be sure that you pull over to a safe area on the side of the road while allowing plenty of room to work.

Get your spare tire ready along with your jack and your lug wrench.
Loosen the wheel lugs on your flat tire before you jack up the vehicle.

After jacking up the car, you can remove the flat and put the spare tire in place.

Carefully lower your vehicle with the jack and then tighten up all of the wheel lugs.

Double check to make sure that all of the lugs are fully tightened before driving away.

Tip: You may not know where you place the jack to raise your vehicle. In this case, consult your owner’s manual for guidance on proper, safe jack placement.
