The Toyota Prius can do it all. It can save you money on gas, look good doing it, and offer a smooth ride with great handling. But can it go camping? Apparently, that's the hot-button issue with the Toyota hybrid in Japan, as one company is planning to release an add on for the Prius that turns it from a mid-size hatchback into a fully capable camper.
Now some of you out there may be thinking, why turn the Prius into a camper? To that, we here at Toyota South say, why not? Don't you think it makes sense to bring a vehicle that gives back so much to the environment on a trip to connect with More Nature? Plus, the camper add on from Camp-Inn really does do a great job of expanding the utility of the Prius into a whole new market.
Specifically, the camper add on allows four people to sleep in the back of the Prius quite comfortably. Four! Two in what would be the backseat, and two more on the extended cabin on top. The camper even features a full back door for easy entry for each of the occupants.
Thus far, there has been no word of pricing for the new Prius camper add on or even confirmation on if it will be making its way to the U.S. for that matter. We have a hard time imagining that this is something that our official Toyota parts department would carry.
Still, those of you who are simply in the market for a little more space with your hybrid can check out the all-new Toyota Prius v, which offers the cargo space of a small SUV, with the kind of superior fuel economy that you'd expect from a hybrid.
Of course, if you're not interested in a hybrid model at all, there are more than a few new Toyota models that we carry here at 961 Four Mile Rd Richmond, KY 40475 that can meet your automotive needs.
